New York, one of the largest cities in the world will disappear in 21th century!!! After lot of researchs, scientists and geologists found that a volcano in North West Africa (I forgot the name) will collapse into Atlantic Ocean within a hundred years, due to its unstable condition. This will cause another tsunami, probably larger than the recent one, flow across the ocean and invade East America inland about 20 km. The whole New York will be washed away! What a shock!
I've read the news too from the Internet and also from the Discovery Channel (or National Geographic Channel?). Even Florida, the Caribbean islands, Western Europe, North Brazil and West Africa will be devastated by the gigantic tsunami. The volcano, named Cumbre Vieja, is found on the currently unstable volcanic island of La Palma, which along with a group of tiny islands that make up the Canary Islands, administered by Spain, off the coast of Morocco. This time the tsunami isn't occured in the Pacific Ocean nor the Indian Ocean, but it's occured in the youngest of them all --- the Atlantic Ocean. The mega-tsunami is expected to reach a height of 13 metres when approaching New York City, 40 metres high on the north coast of Brazil, 50 metres high in Florida and the Caribbean, while giant waves of a staggering 100-metre high will plunge onto the West African shores! Isn't that horrific?

That's horrific! Are you sure it's true and not just a rumour? What do they plan to do about it? Are they going to leave it to the next generation to deal about it? Can't they destroy the volcano before it collapses?
Maybe we'll let you deal with it, since you have such a 'brilliant' idea. Destroying a volcano? Are you trying to combat with the mighty forces of Mother Nature? This is one ultra tough task. Maybe you can become a volcanologist when you grow up. Then, you can lead a group of scientists and volcanologists, and also those atomic-bomb makers to destroy the volcano. How's that?

Why? What's wrong with that? They should destroy the volcano before it destroys them what......I'm sure there's a way to destroy it, though I'm definitely not going to be that hero. Anyway, they should count themselves lucky cos they know it's going to happen, therefore they can still try to prevent it or at least move away from those places before the tsunami attacks, unlike the recent one......
There are several evacuation program to train the New York residents, if the tsunami really happens. According to scientists, the tsunami will take 8 hours to flow to the New York coast after the volcano collapses. So, there are sufficient time for them to move to the higher land.
Imagine those mighty skyscrapers which contribute much to New York City's famed skyline are wholly destroyed by the tsunami! It will be a horrifc scene, a metropolis full of debris, rubble and remnants of the dilapidated structures, reminiscent of the scenes of the WTC site after the terrorist attacks, but in a million-time larger scale. All that remains will be the city's glorious past.

Sounds exciting! If it really happens, it'll be the most memorable event in history! Although a lot will be destroyed, lives are more important. As I said before, they are really fortunate that they get to know about it so long before it's predicted to happen, so in a way I would say it's not as bad as the recent tsunami.
Gosh! You actually consider that exciting? It'll be another unforgettable tragedy for New Yorkers and will certainly leave a new scar on them over the old one --- the September 11 incident. New York City has been the role model for many modern cities, and I truly wish that this tragedy won't happen a century later.
