The Mona Lisa, painted by the great Leonardo da Vinci, is one of the most famous portraits of all time. The painting has so many interesting qualities. If you’ve ever seen the portrait, which is currently in the Louvre, you notice that the eyes of the painting seem to follow you around the room. If you look closely, you can see that the Mona Lisa has no eyebrows. Some people think that the eyebrows were removed during the restoration process. Most believe that the eyebrows were shaved off because that was the style at the time of the painting. The Mona Lisa is also said to have been the first human portrait to be painted to exact proportions. The expression on the Mona Lisa’s face is interesting because her smile isn’t the same as the mood in the background. The colors are dull, in a sense that they’re very similar, but they’re also up beat colors. It’s because of all these reasons that the Mona Lisa is one of the most famous portraits of all time.
